Figure 9: Comparison of Sucrose Effects with those of NaCl and KCl. (A, above) is on a percent solution basis while (B, below) is on a molar basis. Sucrose is in a different class with regard to it inhibitory effect as would be expected when comparing ionic and non-ionic solutes. Pursuit of this is the subject on future studies with hopes that it may shed some light on the conundrum surrounding the physical chemical basis of osmotic pressure.
