Figure 10: The Effect of Growth Temperature on Cellular Specific Gravity. While temper-ature greatly affects growth rate, it appears that cellular composition is but slightly affected in E. coli. Figure 11: The Effect of Growth Medium Strength on Cellular Specific Gravity. The vigor of highly dilute cells is little affected by medium strength although "yield" is, of course, known to be very much affected.
