IODINE CLOCK DATA ANALYSIS
| All the data from the four groups were plotted and slopes were determined for each of the temperatures provided by each group. The slopes are equivalent to the reaction rate constants, k. Three data points seem excessively out-of-line. |
|
|---|---|
| This is the same as the above with the three aberrant data points removed. |
|
| Arrhenius Plot: To the right, the natural logs of the slopes in the preceding graph were compared to the reciprocals of the absolute temperature. The derivation of the slope of the best-fit line is shown, and from it is derived the Activation Energy of the reaction with 92% confidence in the result. This is a very low number compared with catalyzed reactions. That stands to reason - this reaction went without employing any catalysts. |
