Chem 102 Lab
Week #5 (08 February 2007)

A number of you have wondered aloud (complained?) that so far we haven't studied in lab the "real" chemistry you thought you would be having when you signed up for the course. Your preconceived notion of chemistry was that of mixing things and seeing colors change and other "exciting" things happen. Thus, by popular demand, we shall be temporarily skipping the planned-for lab exercise and moving to one that will have you measuring out reagents, mixing them and watching colors - "real" chemistry!

"The Iodine Clock Reaction"
(or, more scientifically titled: "The Kinetics of a Per-Iodate Redox Reaction")
