Pocket Calculator and the Cube Root

If your calculator has a square root function but NOT the X^y function, do the following:

enter the number for which you want the cube root, then

1. Press the square root button twice.
2. Press the multiplication button.
3. Press the square root button twice.
4. Press the multiplication button.
5. Press the square root button four times.
6. Press the multiplication button.
7. Press the square root button eight times.
8. Press the multiplication button...you have your answer

But if your calculator has the X^y function, then do this:

enter the number for which you want the cube root, then

9. Press the X^y button
10. enter 0.33333...
11. Press the X^y button...you have your answer
