Lecture: Waste-water treatment, Mary Lou #5, Chloroplasts
Lab
- Results and Conclusions of the MPN tests
- Green Microbiology (Microscopic fun!)
- Fresh-water plankton
Many of you had noticed that within the surface water you used for your MPN testing there were little specks of things moving about. Let's have a look at them: euglena, paramecia, amoeba, etc.
- Chloroplasts
Question: when a plant is put into the dark for many days it gets pale (chlorotic) and gangly. When it is brought back into the light, it gets green again. Does it get green because there are more chloroplasts per cell, or because the chloroplasts gain more chlorophyll? (Your kids might like to attend to do this for a science project!)
- Normal Peri-Natal Bacteriology - initial reports (final reports - next time)
