For starters, let's look at how plant pigments "run" on paper when various solvents move through the paper. The only hard part of this is getting true chromatography paper. But it can be found.*
| Here are two project questions:
- Are there red pigments in green leaves?
- Is the red in a rose flower the same pigment as that in its leaves? (Hint: don't forget the thorns are leaves.) Does this have genetic implications?
