    1. The making of density gradients:

      While this shows the making of a specific NaBr gradient in a small glass centrifuge tube, this same technique can be used for sucrose, CsCl and other solutes in containers other than centrifuge tubes. The technique has been successfully used even in graduated cylinders, and for making gradient gels for SDS-PAGE.
