One goal in construction of the various electric devices is to have them easily connected to a power supply, and to make those connections universal so that one type of device can easily be substituted with another. Thus...

1. A safe type of battery is a 9-volt type used in smoke alarms.
2. The connector that snaps onto this sort of battery may be purchase at electronics stores such as RadioShack around the world.
3. To the bare ends of the wires leading from the snap-on connector should be inserted into male (or "blade") crimp-ons. If the wires from the various devices that will use this battery power are affixed with the complementary female crimp-ons, connection can be made rapidly and easily.
