YOUNG SCIENTISTS.....HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL SCIENTISTS.....TEACHERS

This site facilitates a new age of COLLABORATIVE science projects for grades K through 12 to parallel how professional scientists from around the world work together. Unlike almost all other project sites, most projects outlined here have never been done before.

• This will help YOUNG SCIENTISTS TO WORK TOGETHER with other students, who live in different ecosystems or have special equipment, supplies or circumstances that can be shared. Resulting data may then be synthesized for joint reports. There are now, as EXAMPLES some students making use of different oceans in a sanitation study, while others are designing airplanes and need different altitudes, and younger classes are learning about sun angles and seasons, and are comparing notes with other classes around the world. These students hope to present their results in the same way senior scientists do - with many authors often from far-flung locales.

  When doing so provide:

  • Your first name
  • Nearest Big City, Country
  • Name of Your School
  • Your scientific area of interest
  • If possible, something you have been wondering about in science that you'd like to answer.
  • What local resources you have available
    • Human resources - teachers, parents, etc.
    • Equipment, supplies, if any.
  • UPPER-LEVEL STUDENT PROJECTS should generally be ones that are "novel", meaning that they have NEVER been done before by anyone. You might like to see what some entering university students are pondering under this webmaster's mentoring - Projects2013. These students would appreciate your collaborating with them. Contact this site's coordinator at science_projects@yahoo.com. Many of the above medal winners did this high-school/university collaboration.

  • YOUNGER STUDENTS up to about age 12 or 13, can design solo and collaborative projects to lay foundations about what science is and teach the basic methods of exploration and discovery. While many of the projects for these "younger scientists" may not be 'novel,' they will often require communication with other young students living at very distant places - even on the other side of the world (as with studying the rotation of the earth, or timing eclipses), or even some astronomical mind teasers.

  • TEACHERS will have several sections for their use.
    • A.P. Biology Laboratory Extensions
    • Sharing their favorite lab procedures such as
      Microbiological modules for K-12.
    • Obtaining assistance both with theory and "making things work"
    • Finding equipment and supplies through
      suppliers.
